The main objective of the course is to introduce and familiarize the students with the mathematical notions and theories related to telecommunications and computer networks. Topics to be covered include:

  • Fundamentals and applications of Linear Algebra, Calculus, Differential Equations and Probability Theory.
  • Linear and nonlinear Dynamic Systems, Time-reversal symmetry systems, Hamiltonian, differentiable systems, Liénard systems and Lyaponov’s Stability.
  • Dynamic Programming, the minimum principle of Pontryagin, the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman partial differential equations, the Kalman filter and  Linear-Quadratic (LQ) Regulators.
